The NYSE-listed GQG US Equity ETF, managed by one of the world's prominent active equity investors, is preparing to enter the Abu Dhabi market.
The UAE Capital Market Authority (CMA) has approved the cross-listing of the GQG US Equity ETF (NYSE: GQGU) on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), paving the way for the actively managed US equity fund to become available to UAE investors.
The upcoming listing will bring the investment expertise of Rajiv Jain, founder and Chief Investment Officer of GQG Partners, to ADX. Jain is widely recognized for his investment track record and for building GQG Partners into a global asset management business that has managed more than $150 billion in client assets.
The ETF is expected to begin trading on ADX following completion of the remaining listing procedures. It marks the second crosslisting approval this month on ADX.
Who Is Rajiv Jain? From Portfolio Manager to Global Asset Management Founder
Rajiv Jain has spent more than three decades managing global, international and emerging-market equity portfolios.
Born in India, Jain moved to the United States to pursue an MBA at the University of Miami. He joined Swiss investment firm Vontobel Asset Management in 1994, where he built his reputation managing emerging-market and international equities.
Jain became Chief Investment Officer and Head of Equities at Vontobel in 2002 and was subsequently appointed Co-Chief Executive Officer in 2014. During his tenure, he helped grow Vontobel's equity business from less than $400 million to nearly $50 billion in assets.
In 2016, Jain left Vontobel and co-founded GQG Partners with Tim Carver, establishing an investment boutique focused on identifying quality businesses with attractive long-term earnings prospects.
GQG expanded rapidly, surpassing $100 billion in assets within several years and later exceeding $150 billion. The firm was listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2021.
The Goldman Sachs Connection
An important part of GQG's early development was its relationship with Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
In December 2016, Goldman Sachs launched the Goldman Sachs GQG Partners International Opportunities Fund, with GQG serving as sub-adviser and Jain overseeing investment decisions.
The collaboration combined GQG's active equity investment capabilities with Goldman Sachs' institutional distribution reach, helping introduce Jain's investment approach to a broader global investor audience.
What Is the GQGU ETF?
The GQG US Equity ETF (GQGU) is an actively managed fund seeking long-term capital appreciation by investing primarily in US equities.
Unlike passive ETFs that replicate an index such as the S&P 500, GQGU allows its portfolio management team to select stocks based on company fundamentals, competitive advantages, earnings durability and valuations.
GQGU began trading on NYSE Arca in July 2025, becoming GQG Partners' first ETF. It succeeded a mutual fund strategy with an investment history dating to July 2019.

What's Inside GQGU?
As of September 30, 2026, the ETF held 37 stocks, with significant exposure to large US technology companies.
Its largest holdings included:
- Nvidia
- Microsoft
- Apple
- Alphabet
- Amazon
- Micron Technology
- Dell Technologies
- Lam Research
Information technology represented approximately 59% of the portfolio, while the ten largest holdings accounted for nearly 58% of assets.
This concentration reflects the fund's active stock-selection approach but also makes its performance sensitive to developments in the technology sector and the fortunes of its largest positions.
What Does the Upcoming Listing Mean for ADX Investors?
The expected cross-listing of GQGU represents another development in ADX's efforts to expand its international ETF offering. For investors in the UAE, the fund would provide local-market access to an established US active equity strategy managed by an internationally recognized investment team.
It also introduces a different investment approach to the growing ADX ETF universe. While many exchange-traded funds follow predetermined indices, GQGU relies on active management and the portfolio team's assessment of individual companies.
The anticipated listing would further demonstrate the growing links between Abu Dhabi's capital markets and international asset managers, as ADX continues to establish itself as a regional hub for global ETFs.
