ADX Becomes First MENA Exchange to Offer AI-Powered Real-Time Market Data Access

The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) has become the first exchange in the Middle East and North Africa to give investors direct access to official real-time market data through conversational AI tools, including ChatGPT and Claude.

ADX investors can now query live market prices and data in natural language — directly inside AI platforms they already use — without specialist terminals, complex API setups, or technical intermediaries. For retail and institutional investors tracking ADX-listed instruments, this materially lowers the information barrier. Investors holding ADX-listed ETFs such as the Chimera S&P UAE ETF or equities across the exchange's listed universe gain a faster, simpler route to market intelligence.

The service launches across four pricing tiers, starting with a free plan and scaling to AED 49.99 per month. Each tier carries defined limits on usage volume, data refresh rates, historical data range, and the number of simultaneous connections.

How the technology works?

ADX built the integration on a governed Model Context Protocol (MCP) server — a standardised framework that allows AI assistants and AI agent workflows to securely read from official ADX data sources on demand. Users configure their AI application once and then query live market data through a single, unified protocol.

ADX Group CEO Abdullah Salem Al Nuaimi said the exchange is "redefining how the investment community uses market data to make informed decisions directly, easily, and efficiently," adding that removing technical barriers means anyone can now access ADX real-time data through simple queries.

ADX Leading in Exchange Technology

ADX, established in November 2000, is the second-largest exchange in the Arab world. It converted from a public entity to a public joint-stock company in March 2020 and operates as a full-market infrastructure group, encompassing trading, clearing through AD Clear, settlement, and custody via Abu Dhabi Securities Depository. The exchange lists equities, government and corporate bonds, ETFs, and other instruments approved by the UAE's Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA).

The MCP initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi's knowledge economy agenda and the UAE's "We the UAE 2031" vision. By distributing real-time data through AI platforms, ADX positions itself to attract a broader base of retail participants and tech-enabled institutional players — a strategic priority as regional capital markets compete for global listings and investor flows.

Adoption Will Be Key Going Forward

The critical next test is adoption: whether third-party developers and institutional workflow builders integrate the ADX MCP server at scale will determine how meaningfully this shifts market participation and data transparency across the UAE and wider GCC.
