Qatar's stock market recorded its strongest daily percentage gain in more than eight years on November 1, 2026, as investors returned to local equities following several weeks of market weakness. The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) Index jumped 424.30 points, or 4.64%, to close at 9,575.48, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).
The rally was broad-based, with 48 listed companies advancing and only five declining. Trading value reached approximately QAR 1.07 billion (US$295 million) across nearly 60,000 transactions. The rebound added approximately QAR 23.9 billion to the market's capitalization, bringing its total value to QAR 579.9 billion.
Qatar Outperforms Regional Markets
Qatar's rally contrasted with weaker trading elsewhere in the Gulf, where Saudi Arabia's benchmark declined 0.84%, Kuwait's all-share index lost 0.80%, and Oman's MSX 30 fell 0.73%.

Major listed companies helped drive the recovery. Industries Qatar gained approximately 7.9%, while Qatar National Bank advanced around 3%, according to Reuters.
The November 1 session alone recovered much of the ground lost during October, although the benchmark remained below its earlier 2026 highs.
LNG Agreements and Credit Strength Support Sentiment
Improving confidence was supported by QatarEnergy's efforts to strengthen its international LNG supply portfolio.
The company recently secured long-term agreements covering up to 7 million tonnes of LNG annually from US suppliers Cheniere and Woodside Energy, with deliveries beginning in 2030 and 2031.
The agreements are designed to diversify QatarEnergy's supply sources and provide greater flexibility amid disruptions affecting regional energy exports. Meanwhile, S&P Global Ratings affirmed Qatar's sovereign rating at AA/A-1+ with a stable outlook, citing substantial financial buffers and fiscal flexibility.
The developments helped reinforce confidence in the country's financial position, although geopolitical uncertainty remains an important market risk.
What the Rally Means for Qatar ETFs
For ETF investors, the recovery is particularly relevant to three funds providing exposure to Qatar's equity market.
The locally listed QE Index ETF (QETF) tracks Qatar's main equity benchmark, while the Al Rayan Qatar ETF (QATR) offers Shariah-compliant exposure to Qatari companies.
International investors can also access the market through the US-listed iShares MSCI Qatar ETF (QAT).
These funds differ in their index composition, sector concentration and investment structure, as illustrated by the comparison of Qatar's three equity ETFs.
The market recovery may support fund valuations, but individual ETF returns will depend on their underlying holdings, fees and tracking performance.
Qatar's latest rally demonstrates renewed investor appetite for local equities. The next test will be whether stronger earnings, sustained liquidity and improvements in regional sentiment can turn the rebound into a lasting recovery.
