Saudi ETFs Rebound as Tadawul Gains 3.4% and Growth Outlook Improves

Saudi Arabia's exchange-traded funds (ETFs) rallied on October 26 as the Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 3.43% to 9,761.78 points, recovering 323 points after five consecutive sessions of declines.

The rebound was broad-based, with 260 listed companies advancing and just eight declining. Trading activity reached approximately SAR 5.2 billion, reflecting renewed investor participation after a difficult period for regional equities.

Leading companies including Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden), Saudi Aramco and SABIC contributed to the recovery, while several Saudi-listed ETFs recorded gains exceeding 2%.

The rebound extended across equity-focused and fixed-income ETFs, although performance varied by investment strategy.

According to Saudi ETF market data, the Albilad MSCI Saudi Growth ETF (9408) gained approximately 3.6%, while the Alinma Saudi Government Sukuk ETF (9404) rose nearly 3%.

The Albilad MSCI Saudi Equity ETF (9412) also advanced, alongside the YAQEEN Saudi Equity ETF (9400).

The gains followed a period of significant weakness. Before Monday's rebound, the Saudi benchmark had declined approximately 7.4% over five sessions.

Improved regional sentiment contributed to the recovery as diplomatic discussions involving Saudi Arabia, Iran and other regional governments raised hopes of reduced geopolitical uncertainty.

However, the discussions do not yet constitute a comprehensive agreement, and regional risks remain elevated.

Saudi Economic Growth Expected to Accelerate in 2027

Beyond short-term market sentiment, Saudi Arabia's medium-term economic outlook provides another consideration for investors.

The International Monetary Fund expects the Kingdom's real GDP growth to accelerate from 1.7% in 2026 to 5.5% in 2027, supported by an expected normalization of economic activity and continued diversification efforts.

Non-oil economic growth is also projected to strengthen, from 2.6% in 2026 to 4.5% in 2027.

The outlook reflects the continuing importance of economic diversification, private-sector development and investment across infrastructure, financial services and other industries.

Nevertheless, the forecasts remain sensitive to oil production, regional stability and global economic conditions.

What the Rebound Means for ETF Investors

For investors accessing Saudi Arabia through locally listed ETFs or international products such as the iShares MSCI Saudi Arabia ETF, the rebound demonstrates how quickly market sentiment can change.

Equity ETFs may benefit from improving corporate earnings and economic activity, while sukuk ETFs respond to different factors, including interest rates, yields and credit conditions.

The latest gains are encouraging, but they do not erase the preceding market declines or establish a sustained upward trend.

Saudi Arabia's stronger 2027 growth projections offer a constructive medium-term backdrop, while the durability of the ETF recovery will depend on earnings, market liquidity and continued improvements in investor confidence.
